From memory they were muzzle loaders so only one shot. That one shot could though take out many birds in one go.

They fired one on Auction Hunters once. Ton and Allen got one in a unit they bought. It was a muzzle load. They had it tied down in several positions on a long bench and fired it to show the prospective buyer. It would prob take out a whole flock of birdies...lol

On the show Storage Hunters that was on a couple of days ago they found one of them on one of the storage units they bought - worth a lot of money - they fired it a few times and worked like a big shot gun - as indicated strapped to a boat and pointed at a flock of ducks and fired taking most of them out with one shot.
