 AT REST

AT RESTjust reminiscing I was only about 7 then , I didn't remember the police manning the school crossings then . I think I remember people where a bit friendlier then, they didn't have the me me me hang up like it seems the norm today.
Those Holdens date that film to the first half of the sixties. I was still only knee high to a grass hopper then. Was still a time of post war optimism and innocence. We used to have a horse and cart milkman. There was a door to door greengrocer.Certainly does make you reminisce. Were I grew up was considered a country town then, now it is a outer suburb. Hmm I do remember we had a light blue Fe Holden.

 AT REST

AT RESTYep we had an ice box so and iceman came once a week, we had Baker Boy Bread delivered by Van, the milk was in bottles delivered by horse and cart. Interesting how the Melbourne sky line has changed, I remember going into CBD on a school excursion to go to the top floor of the Mutual Permanent building, I think it was and that was like 18 - 20 floors or something High. The guys in the vid hanging lunch/Smoko sitting on top of a building girder wouldn't be allowed these days, no evidence of any safety harness. I can't place that curved building seen in parts of the Vid, I think that was on St.Kilda road?
The Holden factory is building the HD with the 149 engine, 1965-66.
Not only is this very entertaining, it shows how big the London network is - and how **** Melbournes is...

Yes, and there was one HD seen momentarily. One scene in the market showed handling banknotes, and these were pre-decimal, as they had white borders. This suggests the scene was pre-January 1966, although I suppose the old currency was still used for some time alongside the old, so it is not definitive.

Incidentally the HR came out in 66 so it must have been late 65 early 66.
Cheers, Billy.
Keeping it simple is complicated.
