Hilarious, but it made me believe our generation perhaps will be seen as the last to have more in common with a caveman than we do with the generation immediately following. As middle aged, even having grown up with some form of telecommunication and computing I cannot imagine the difference the current generation will have always having a portable internet connection in their pocket and likely, unless someone our age takes the time to teach them and they in turn show interest, never having done much mechanically. As internal combustion goes the way of the dodo, I imagine kids not far behind my grandkids age will approach cranking my perentie much like these teens approached the rotary phone, with amusement by any of us left around to witness it.

Everything will be electric for them.
I told some kids I could remember when our family house first got electricity and they couldn't imagine life without electricity.

It has been said that my father stopped using the phone when the old rotary was replaced with buttons. To thisay will not use an atm , any phone unless dialed for him or even touch a computer. Good stuff dad

I can appreciate how they feel - I grew up with electricity, but have lived in places without electricity, plus camping, boating etc to be quite familiar with not having it.

But I was in my sixties before I realised that both my parents grew up, and went through school and university, without ever living in a house with electricity, and appreciated how much this must have affected their lives and what they regarded as 'normal'. And while obviously I am familiar with dial telephones, some of the things they would have regarded as everyday, but are not by me, would include :- smoothing irons heated on the fuel stove; everyday use of candles; trimming the wicks of the lamps; cleaning the lamp glasses; replacing mantles; maintenance of horsedrawn vehicle (my maternal grandfather was a coachsmith); long distance travel in slow steam trains; and many more.

There are always differences between generations, usually more than we imagine until we see examples such as the one shown.
