    No way,ours were three,in the hub from memory,which is not the greatest these days.

    Wow, you guys were flash, having gears and all. Around that time I had a Thunderbolt Scrambler which looked almost the same but was single cog.

    Mine was three- I did not have the derailleur and wonder if they were invented at that point

    I had a 26" Malvern Star single cog. I cannibalised a 27" wheel for its 3 speed hub a few years later, which was a mission for a 12 yo, as the spokes were a different length. After a bit I changed the little lever on the handles for a T bar..., and discovered why this was not a good idea the first time I hit something
