Interesting, Odd or Funny Pics II.

Back in the mid eighties a summer storm bought down a Norfolk Pine, on Bald Hills Road. The diameter, where the tree totally blocked the road was 4½~5'. A Victorian holiday maker, driving far too fast for the drastically reduced visibility, snotted the tree at ~60kph, without touching the brakes. The car came to an instant halt, but the typically Victorian basket roof rack didn't, it cleared the tree, landing 30' beyond the fallen tree. Fortunately the seatbelt saved the sole occupant from serious injury, but it would have been a long walk home.

They can get spooky. After that huge storm we had three years ago they were lying around like those toy pickup sticks. But they utterly destroyed around 130 houses and it’s miraculous that nobody died. Quite a few families never came back. Me, I figure that the trees were here first. But I don’t walk in the forest anymore. The big really old ones drop limbs that are bigger than most trees that people are familiar with.

The radiator/grill is a dead give away. :thumbsup:
