That film bring back great memories. Dad did all of that sort of work. I still have the head of his broad axe, dates back to the 1800`s Dad did the weather boards for the south Belgrave church with that axe. Dad and my uncle used to cut timber with a cross cut saw. Remember him splitting trees down there length with wedges. Dam feeling old now.

that was interesting,remember my dad (84yo) taking me out the bush as a lad and showing me where him and pop had shoe boarded 20 feet up a tree to fall it. Too big of a girth at ground level. they were a tough bunch

Found this interesting, and there's a brief shot of the biggest shaper probably ever built I should think where the entire bed moves, not the tool.
