The Plank (1967) - IMDb nb. I think they got Arthur Lowe & Tommy Cooper mixed up. Never saw anything about a Cat just that when they finished they looked out of the window to see 2 little kids using the "stolen" plank being used as a See-Saw. Unless there was another version.

seriously Ian, that is one heavy load, probably a transformer , was U.K. building nuclear power stations in the late ‘40 s. ?
the two lendlease tractors ( Diamond T or Federal) would handle the task alright , detour to avoid low capacity bridge or low overhead me thinks .
