Yes, I’ve seen them and the result of people squatting on the toilet as shown in the lower left corner - both here and in Saudi Arabia when I worked there. I avoided the toilets at work as much as possible.

I think all Toilet Blocks should have an extra door. "Men, Women & Cretins". The latter one could eject you immediately to the Sewerage Farm. Do not collect $200 as you pass GO.
Personally, I have never even thought of Squatting on a Dunny Bowl but I guess it takes all sorts. I think it must have been the way I was brung up. Thanks Mum.
Sure, spreading copious amounts of paper over the seat has been known to be done, but who would you sue if you slipped off the seat while squatting & broke your neck?
You're on your Pat with that one sunshine.Worse still, what if you buggered up the Bowl or got your foot/feet stuck in the P trap & they had to smash that to get you out. Plumbers don't come cheap, you know.
Think on, Sunshine.
With Squatting just think of the possible reactive Back Splatter up the wall especially if you drop a loose one. That ain't very nice for the next Squattee/er
Working on oil rigs in Indonesia; standing on the toilet seats leading to them being broken became such a problem that we removed sit down toilets and replaced them with squat types in the Nationals bathrooms. The other habit that we just had to overlook was standing outside a shower stall and peeing in to it!Pretty standard depending on the number of internationals around.
Many older places in Thailand, particularly in villages, still use squat type toilets. A big earthenware open top water container along with a small hand held bowl to scoop up some water for flushing. Most places also have a rinsing hose and toilet paper rolls are something that is put on the table and used in place of a box of tissue papers! They usually have a cheap plastic holder with a hole in the top for the paper.
