During my time as SM we would not employ those blokes either from the Services or Govts., Army was the worst. No way could they have the Work Ethic as required in private enterprise. We tried one or two but it was always the same old story. NFG.
One ex UK citizen came very close to getting the arse because he need someone to hold his hand & couldn't think.. No idea how he managed furriners after hours. I bet he was **** hot then.
On the then 2 Way it was like instructing kids at Kindergarten. Ok, there is The School of the Air now but it was hardly the same thing back then.
Hi,
An apprentice turned up at the Repco counter for fourty pounds of compression.
An old cast iron cylinder head was duly wrapped in cardboard and string and given to him with strict instructions to be VERY gentle with it or it will explode.
Poor sod, hot day, about 1 mile to carry this, and no one was allowed to touch it till he put carefully on the perpetrator's bench.
Cheers
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
I remember an apprentice in a kitchen I worked, was asked to chop up the flour! She spent quite a while at that chore.![]()
