It is an acquired taste, and a good, complex intense single malt is the only alcohol I miss. Not for the alcohol itself, but the amazing flavours. You can keep bourbons though, although they are the only use for corn that I can see.

I tried that same argument at the highbrow school I went to. It fell on deaf ears. But it’s true. I just broke one in that last sentence btw. In a language as malleable and adaptable as English the “rules “ will always be changing. Languages that adhere to strict conventions I believe actually stilt expression.

If you make a clanger who is really going to criticise while they can still understand the word & it's meaning just read it. Still ,I'm glad I ain't Bill Shakespeare I can hear him now saying..." **** this for a game of Soldiers" re. The crap he would have had to put up with from his so called Learned Friends.


Somebody once (or twice or thrice) said that the English Language was one of, if not, the hardest ,languages to learn? The Yanks seem to have culled it quite ok. When written it may not look right to our eyes but it can be understood ok.
