Back in the days before cars were marketed according to how many cup holders they had, someone I once knew proudly installed a "coldy holder" in his series Landrover and would estimate travel distances based on the number of cans consumed. In fairness, consumption only started once he was in the bush. Some of his trips included serious river crossings, too.

About 40 years ago when drink driving wasn't such a big issue, I would determine a trip to be a X can trip and it started when I left my house in the suburbs.

Which is exactly what the New Defender is in petrol and diesel, both straight 6's. And there is a 4 cylinder petrol and a couple of V8s.

Then there are foursomes and anything over that is a ''moresome''.
