Try the bit about run flat or space saver tyres.
Someone I know who has a habit of misrepresenting things to suit his own prejudices and political beliefs was assuring others today that the Range Rover Owner's handbook specifically says that the vehicle should not be driven more than 500km from a LR dealer.
He claims a friend of his actually read that in the RR manual.
I assume there really is some reference to 500km that either he or his friend has been able to misinterpret in order to perpetuate the myth about LR reliability.
I have tried searching online versions of owner's handbooks to try to find the information that he has twisted to suit his prejudices, but have found nothing.
I would very much like to show him how ridiculous his claim is. Can anyone point me to something in the RR handbook that could be misinterpreted to come up with his claim that owners should not drive RRs more than 500km from a dealer?

If he is so absolutely certain about this, he won't mind putting his money where his mouth is and get him to show it to you in the RR manual. In fact, download a manual and give it to him. I'm sure that will fix him! Otherwise you can call bullcrap and put it down to typical LR negative press.....

Take him for a drive 500km from dealer and leave him behind .![]()
Does it have anything to do with the T's and C's of Land Rover Assist or something? Is there a clause in there saying they will only tow it a max of 500KM to a dealer or something like that?

My guess was that it had something to do with maximum recovery distance for LR Assist.

That sounds more like it to me too.
So has anyone been able to find any reference at all to 500km anywhere in the RR handbook or any associated document?
