Huge difference in day old concrete and fully cured 40mpa concrete when drilling it yourself.

I would not have thought it would get to 40 in a couple of weeks

It'll probably be a couple of months before the hoist goes in.

    Ghost's Shed Build

Best not to drill green concrete as it can induce cracks, especially next to edges, and the underside of the slab will tend to blow out. Let it cure and drill with a rotary hammer drill and all will be good.

Thats true, as i am guessing the slabs not overly thick. My footing for my hoist were 500mm thick.

Fair comment but I was a long way from the edge and of course didn't need the drill on hammer to penetrate green concrete. The hoist didn't ever come loose as it wasn't bolted down until the concrete had hardened sufficiently. Getting things done the easy way is what I aim for.

One things for sure GG, get the hose with a light spray pattern on that pad at least once a day, and keep it nice and damp for at least a week. The slower it cures the stronger it'll be, and less likely to crack. With the new house build I specified a 150mm pad instead of the standard 100mm, and the night the pad was poured I was out there with the hose! Soaked it 3 times a day for a week. At the time I thought nothing of it as its what we've always done 'on farm' in the UK. Two weeks ago the main living area and all wet rooms were tiled, and the tiler asked me 'what's the go with this pad?'... I said 'why do you ask?' His reply was 'the first new build pad I've seen that's not cracked'. I thought he was daft, until last week, when the carpet layer asked exactly the same thing! He said all pads crack and wanted to know what I'd done differently.

Double mesh, 150mm and keep it wet to slow the cure as long as practically possible! Shed's looking good GG!

    Hoist

    Hi Gav,

I know that the brand is Molnar... Looking at the pictures, and using Google I found this - although to be 100% sure, we won't know until I pull it out of the shed..

    http://www.molnarhoists.com.au/asset...nManualv11.pdf

    As for the other questions:

The conduit trench is approximately 13mtrs long, plus I suppose you might want to add 2mtrs at each end to be safe? Bringing the total to 17mtrs..

I had a look at the orange plastic pipe - measuring across (is that the diameter?) it's 30mm wide...

    Cheers,
    GG.

Cool, sounds like 25mm conduit? I may pop up during the week to have a look at everything and finalise what is needed.

Also need to talk about lighting - I'll email you a link to some LED fixtures that may suit - I'll also draw up a suggestion of how I would do the lighting, but you're welcome to modify this if you want to.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Looks like 32mm conduit to me! I would hope so, although not far, pulling a 6mm2 through 25mm would suck.
You could go a 10mm2 or maybe a 16mm2 orange circ in 32mm
    Single phase of course
