Time for the vacuum cleaner, a rag and a draw line trick then!So, how long before Mick can move his stuff into his bay? 😂
I'm hoping it is 32mm as we need to get 3 phase in it... 6mm 4 core and earth will be enough.
I'll check this week when I'm passing through, but we'll make something work.

Over the weekend I decided to clean-up the top drain for the shed...
Previously it looked like this:
I spent a few hours and:
a) Raked the shoulder over so that it is now smoother and on more of a gentle slope.
b) Spread a packet of "Tough Lawn Seed" across the top.
c) Raked the soil again
d) Planted 6 x shrubs
e) Watered it in..
It now looks like this (although this picture was taken before I planted the shrubs, they are only small anyway):
I had never heard of Sitec's suggestion of damping down the slab, but perhaps nature has because..
* It rained on Saturday (just a light drizzle, but enough to leave the entire slab wet)
* It rained on Sunday (same again)
* It rained today - here's a picture (oh, and if you look closely you can see one of the shrubs in there):
And the forecast is for showers on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday... That's good enough for me (6 days light rain, over the first 7 days of curing).
So what's happening today:
I had them remove a corner off the existing garden retaining wall - those of you that have been to my house, it just makes the site cut tidier:
They have been removing any left over shale/rock by hand - and putting it on the edge of the new (large) wall on the edge of the driveway.
They have been preparing the slab - ready for the expansion joints to be cut.
They have been cleaning-up the edges of the slab by hand.
They have been compacting/knuckling the new wall:
In the above picture you can just see that I have done some mowing... I spent about 5 hours with a standard lawn mower over the weekend, tidying things up a bit in this area...
Here is a very short video of the knuckling:

What's earthworks are left? Still quite a few jobs to do...
* Crushed rock from the edge of the shed, across to the house.
* Crushed rock from the edge of the shed - across to the new retaining wall.
* Crushed rock along the back of the shed - to help with drainage.
* Crushed rock - down to the front gate. (The driveway has needed to be redone for a few years now)
* Footpath along the back of the shed (mainly to help with drainage)
* New drain to be installed in the driveway
I have been speaking to my A1 sparkie - and I should be ordering lights in the next few days.
I have spoken to the shed installer - he is planning on starting "mid next week" - which means that the concrete would have cured for at least 10-12 days.
Things are finally happening!!!
The basic plan is:
* Finish earth works
* Shed to be installed
* Electrical work (including hoist)
* Plumber - install a tap
* Install shelving
* Move in...
Cheers,
GG.
