    Asteroid....did anyone see it?

An 8metre wide asteroid just flew past us less than 40,000km away.

I dont know how close one can get before it affects us.....interesting.

Just been out for a squizz, there's

a bright light, high in the western sky
a dull flashing light to the north
and a big amber street light low on the north-western horizon.

At least with an imminent plane crash they advise you to duck your head between your legs and kiss your bum goodbye, but something like an asteroid passes close and they keep it a secret, don't want to scare people. Do these object just sneak up on us, even though billions are spent on space stuff.

40,000km is more than twice the distance from Sydney to London. Good luck seeing an 8m object at that distance.

Im thinking if an 8m asteroid collided with earth, the world would be blaming Trump for playing with his nukes.
