As I indicated above - the clubs are not meeting until mid Feb (so probably) next weekend) in Gundagai to consider what is needed.

Given the event if it happens is over 12 months away there seems to be a lot of impatient people - surely you dont need 13 months to plan ahead.

13 months and longer could be needed for the venue booking of such a size needed for a event this size

    ^^ Absolutely agree.

I understand that there are four clubs involved in the discussions so hopefully there are a few decision makers amongst them who will be able to, at least set the date/s and venue at their Gundagai meeting.
An early decision re date/s and venue will allow intending participants to plan their 2018 trips.
I've already penciled in a few weeks for next year.

It would be nice to have LRA backing/driving it also.

From the return email from Mr Nicholson, It appears the same 4 clubs that did the 60th are doing the 70th.
He is happy that we show "great interest" in a 70th celebration.

My life is planned a year ahead so I already know my leave dates for next year. That probably means I won't be able to go. Oh well...
