Tim, wasn't posted as a "sook" more of a public announcement - I know it had been adversely impacting a lot of people around the country in the business that I worked for and many didn't know why.

I thought it might be useful information for some.

Wasn't having a go at you Mark! Just an observation on how media, (social and general), reacts.

    Cheers,

but we don't pay much for AULRO,and they do their utmost to keep it going...

    Unlike Telstra

Back on topic, that outage was a bit weird.I couldn't send or receive mobile calls, but landline calls were no worries.
One of the boys has a phone same brand, newer model,he could ring anyone, and was standing next to me,but couldn't get through to my mobile.

I thought it was great - my phone stopped ringing for 2 hours.

My Boss figured out that data hadn't been effected so he face timed me to chat just to suck all the fun out of the peace and quiet.

People have become too reliant on telecommunications. Imagine the panic that set in for of all those who text whilst driving, they would actually have to do the task of driving and not knowing what their fellow texters are doing must have been a real agonising time, not knowing when the friends were wiping their bums etc . Most people could do without the service for the time of outages lasted and might have seen that there is more to life than their mobile phones, we used to do it be them.

I was talking to a workmate yesterday who is running a job with contractors and it wasn't a happy experience for him during the outage.
