G'Day Pat, Mate, I think those cars were designed in England, I think there was a guy called Eric Broadley involved, & the Gulf Team was run by John Wyer. I think the engine capacity was 428 in the Mk 11,....but that was a long time ago, but jeez, the sight & sound of them racing would have been beautiful?
I think the story goes that Henry Ford wanted to buy Ferrari, which He couldn't do, so in terms of the very famous book "The Ford That Beat Ferrari", of which I used to have a copy, He built the GT40, to beat Ferrari,...which He did.
I've said previously that I've never done very well, financially, with my cars, but I did VERY well with that book. I bought it in 1985 for $85, & sold it only a few years ago for $1000,....could've got more, but $1000 was OK!!...It is now very collectible & actively sought by GT40 owners!
