There is lots of production racing out there, even vintage racing from the good old days, only way to make it popular again is go out to the track and watch them.

Anyway my point is, you can't compare the two types, so please keep it on subject, the thread is about the 12hr, if you want to talk about comparisons, start another thread, please.
Seeing as the Ford GT goes into production again this year, will it then be eligible to enter the race? It is only a 600hp+ 6 cylinder.

God I love supercars, even watching that stock Audi R8 going down Conrod at 280km/h was heavenly.

It won because Ford ''invested'' heavily in the race which meant certain rules were bent to allow them to race.Le Mans has a balance of performance which Ford was allowed to bypass. Pat

Originals are worth HUGE money, I try to buy the British Magazine "Octane" every month, and there is sometimes an original one for sale there,..with racing history etc,...dreamland for me!

I'm agreeing with you as long as you don't say it's an American icon. Pat

Suppose people will say the same thing about the 1,2,3 Podium finish the original GT40 had 50 years ago.

It must be a very nice 6 cylinder to out power Ferrari's effort.

Whats not to like about the 12hr, 50 car grid and some dam quick machinery. Sure they are all cars for people with more $$$ than me, but thats irrelevent to me I watch for the racing not the cars.

I watched the interview with the guy running the "Mazda 6" look alikes. You can get into GT3 for $200k and he sounds like he's making a business of it in Europe and North America.

When if you want to have a discussion about it,the 427's weren't legal, only the 289 engined cars were.Ferrari were never going to win,to sack thier best driver the night before the race and have the rest busy back stabbing one another took care of that. Pat
