    A productive however exasperating day

    G'day All,

I would describe today as a good one. The day here was cool in my non-air-conditioned house. Yesterday it was still and the humidity above 61 percent; plus 34 degrees C ... so I had brain fade. Today there has been good breezes and even some rain. So I have been able to get a good amount of writing done on my degree.

Yesterday due to an unannounced change of policy and procedures with an organisation I had to wait until this morning to get a Medibank reimbursement. Previously it was a second eftpos transaction and the reimbursement was immediately back into the account. So this morning I went out and bought stuff I meant to yesterday. When I arrived home the postal contractor had been and I had a "pick up package at Post Office card" waiting for me in my letter box. Turns out when I arrived at the post office it had written on the card "pick up after 2:00 pm". So I had to go back home and wait for hours before making my second attempt at picking up the parcels.

One of the packages was the replacement gas piston for my favourite office chair. When I pulled the chair apart I had removed four screws from the chair base. I did this so I could just take the piston to the local suppliers. During the dismantling I thought I had better put all the parts together in a zip lock bag. So this afternoon upon my second return from the post office I grabbed the bag and guess what?

No four screws and all the remaining parts were no longer needed because they were part of the kit that came with the new gas lift piston. I am totally stuffed if I can remember where those screws went! The brain cells attached to my conscious mind at the time of taking the screws out and putting them somewhere are all currently on holidays. Not even a flicker of a pictorial clue to go look ... exasperation !!!!

So tomorrow I will have to take the seat base to the local nut and bolt supplier and say "can I have four fasteners that fit this please?" Exasperation

    Kind Regards
    Lionel
