I've been out with them all, and to be honest I think that the 110 is easily the better offroader of the lot.

The 90 is a good little car, but it is too short in the wheelbase which makes climbing and rut play difficult and dangerous. The suspension really doesn't flex all that well due to the sway bars. The ride height is ok, but the side bars are a bit low. Good Rover rear diff.

The 110 is a good length though erring on the long side, has great articultion in the suspension and has a good ride height. Although the ride height is impressive, if you want to do some serious 4WDing then the length makes the ramp over angle a little low - but still better clearnace than absolutely anything else on the market! The older models have the bullet proof strength of the Salisbury diff which tolerate an absolute ass flogging, but the later Rover diffed ones have really good clearance.

The 130 firstly is sprung not just massively too stiff, but way stiffer again. They just dont articulate enough to get power down, and that is there no.1 down fall to being a good offroader. Probably great for touring though with the weight carrying capacity. No doubt the length, rampover, turning circle and Salisbury clearance would then be a prob.
    Cheers

I kinda like the thought of a 130 from a touring point of view. Put a custom steel canopy on the back and all your gear is secure and (hopefully) safe from dust and water too. Full height doors give easy access to your stuff. Still enough room to fit in 2 adults and 3 kids, and with side opening doors on the canopy things are easy to get in and out at a convenient height.

The problem I have with the 110 is getting to the gear that's in it. The back door seems way too narrow, and hard to get anything between the doors. I have thought about cutting out the side rear windows and putting on some lockable canopy doors, but the top of the wheel arches are pretty high to reach over. You could fit a long slider drawer between the wheel arch benches, but that would be one long drawer.

I've currently got a 97 TDI Disco, and it's sort of the same setup as the 110 with a wider rear door, so I'd have trouble justifying the change over to a 110, whereas I can see I am getting a lot more storage in a 130. But - I don't want to go backwards in terms of off-road ability.
