    sorry Ace,,
why would you lower a price on any item that selling "as expected"?

no point trying to increase sales,, the product has to come over by boat remember,,
and the allotment for Oz is probably so small they dont really care if they take longer to sell anyway,,

    sad but realistic.

oh god,, why argue with a salesman----

at the premium profit point the sale price has not shifted--

it means LR stuffed up in thinking the bottom range would sell better.

or,, the means of selling the bottom range is not as required--

anywho,, bottom line,, LR will sell EVERY D3 they bring over,,

    one way or another

I'm not sure why any thinking person would buy the Ford Explorer 4.0 V6 engined Disco. The money spent on a TDV6 would be recovered in fuel savings and resale value.

    mmmm welcome to Uk thinking
Australia is now joing the UK way of think . Hence why in the UK they don't even have the V6 only the TDV6 and the V8. And they sell 95% TDV6

Hi Ron, I just bought the wife a V6 because the additional cost of going to a TDV6 wasn’t justified.

I sat down and worked the figures in every direction to see which would be the best value and the V6 petrol came out in front every time.

Even though the diesel is around 30% more fuel efficient, diesel fuel is between 5 and 10% more expensive.

Then there is servicing and the diesel will require at least 50% high servicing costs over the life of the vehicle and this again reduces the gap between the overall operating cost of a diesel and a petrol to nearly equal par with the diesel being only marginally better.

Now add the additional $8,000 difference between a V6 and a TDV6 and there is no way you are ever going to get that back. Even if you get a better resale price for a diesel over a petrol, going on the current resale values of any 4x4, let alone LR’s pathetic resale values, you would be lucky if you got $4,000 difference.

This still leaves around $3,000 to $4,000 difference in favour of the petrol D3s.

    But only time will tell.

    Cheers.
