    old printers

Recently my old Epson Rx 690 printer ran out of ink. So cost of new ink is $120 dollars. There is nothing wrong with the printer. I could have brought a new printer for less lower specs. But we all complain about things, but how is it sustainable for our community or the world to throw away a perfectly use able printer, to land fill. Yes there is E recycle but a lot of it is dodgy. So I brought new ink.

Refill your own cartridges or buy cheapies on ebay - for my canon, magenta wouldn't work when I refilled the cartridges - it dried in the head within a week but the set I bought on ebay for $20 work great so have that seller bookmarked.

They seem to get smarter now - had the same thing happen but I couldn't even get new cartridges. Opted to refill my old ones, but the printer is too smart for that - the printer still says it's still empty and won't do anything.

In the bin it went - a bloody waste...

For our last printer it was cheaper to buy a new one than branded cartridges. Frustrating.

You buy special refillable cartridges or as I said cheapies on ebay - they have chips in them that fool the printer.

If you have an HP printer, they have something called InstsntInk. It's a monthly subscription service where for a small monthly fee they keep you in supply. As low as $3 a month.

    It starts an interesting topic,,,

up till now, the cheaper the printer, the shorter its acceptability to Windows,,,
buy large, and your printer manufacturer produced drivers for the Latest Windows,,

    but now,,

    as far as I know-

Windows 10 is the Final Windows,,

so any printer you buy now should run on windows , well, forever?

A printer that runs forever would need at least ~ 1700 years worth of ink.
