    Rover Fire Trail

well - didn’t make to station creek today as planned, thanks BigT for doing the recce for me, between the women wanting to do post xmas shopping, like they haven’t spent enough already, the kids and there cousins hadn’t fought enough over nothing, plus the locals reckoning station creek would be packed and in hindsight coffs copped a big storm this afternoon we are still in coffs. we will make it to station creek one day

with the women off shopping again I thought I would revisit Rover Fire Trail to fill in a few hours.

had travelled it a couple of times 4-6 years ago so I was confidant I knew the way, its only a short run across the top a state forest. had the gps with me, well - as useful as tits on a bull as my budget garmin etrex does not perform under tree cover at all. half way up the first rise I noticed it had been logged recently, no problem, found a track off to the left, nice and steep decent, turn around at the bottom and on the way back up got hung up on a deep rut, engaged the front locker continued back to the main track. After a while of playing on side tracks I noticed I was heading west instead of south, ½ an hour later after wondering around the state forest/logging tracks not having a clue where I was, finally I ended up back on rover trail just missed 1-2km of itl, I did come across a nissan, thought it would be best not to ask for directions and gee a gps would have helpful. Got to the end and thought i would back track following the whole trail, no problem this time, bloody loggers as it would have had nothing to do with me being pre-occupied with side tracks. just as i was getting close to the black top a motor whizzed past me launching himself of a whoop-t-do scaring the living daylights out of me

A couple more pics in the gallery

    might head back out toomorrow

    love the sign

i give up, how do i resize the photos

Hi weeds. To enlarge your pics just click on the thumbnail in your gallery and it enlarges that one photo, then right click on that one, you know the rest from there. Matt
