Very sad news... A truly talented comedian...
RIP John....if it weren't for ya gumboots...where would ya be?.......
One of New Zealand and Australia's most well-known satirists, John Clarke - the man who created comic character Fred Dagg - has died at the age of 68.
A spokesman for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, for whom Clarke worked, confirmed that he died on Sunday of natural causes, while hiking in the Grampians National Park in Victoria.
Clarke was best known for creating the laconic farmer Fred Dagg, but also enjoyed success as an author, actor, editor and screenwriter.

Sad news indeed. I've been amused by John's antics since his Dagg years. A truly great and adaptable talent.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
He was a master wordsmith who pared everything down to the essentials, which is rare nowadays.
Yep gone too soon. Great bloke had always like his humor.
Cheers
