    Beautiful vehicles.

Had a ride in this beautiful old girl today, a 1968 Jaguar 420g limousine. Fully restored - the leather and timber interior alone cost $10k and smelt like it - with a rebuilt 4.2 six like in the E Type. Very smooth and grunty, but with only a three speed auto she uses 18 mpg of fuel.
Even the air conditioning works great. The owner has her full history and believes there are only eight like her in good condition in Oz. What is she worth? Hard to say, but she is not for sale. A lovely old thing.

They are beautiful. The owner says this one has been very reliable since being restored. However, it did seem to idling rough so maybe the carbies need some expert tuning.

Jaguar have always produced particularly attractive vehicles.

My all time favourite car, I have a picture of this model as my desk top wallpaper.

Nice.... very very nice! Thanks for sharing discomick.

There's just something about Jaguars that stirs the soul, but then I'm happy to say I'm biased

    Cheers

this one popped up on facebook a few days back ... just aroudn the corner from me .... Absolutely lovely. How on earth can it only be worth $3500 To restore a car to that sort of condition would cost $30,000+

To put it in perspective ... an old Citroen DS has always had very little monetry value ... but a DS in that sort of condition would be in the 20->$65,000 range depending on model and type.
