I have bought a Landy on there and met a nice genuine Landy-man...have bought other cars...both of my daughters cars...have bought things like concrete mixers etc...and sold them again on there, sold cars on there...other than the occasional ridiculous text or email, which I ignore...no problems. I would rather use Gumtree than pay other sites, or as a previous poster alluded to, have to pay a newspaper like it used to be....so LONG LIVE GUMTREE.

Obviously there's an upside to being a hoarder.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Be very careful on GT, cash only or money orders. Coupla years back I used gumtree to sell guitar parts and a RAT pedal, pre-chinese made RAT (ie made in usa).

I soon got a message to buy from a well known country & western artist. Yeah right. My scam meter went off the dial because I thought no way C&W players would want a Ramones-grunge-etc type pedal. He later rang up and we talked. Not knowing much about Tamworth of the C&W stuff, off the top of my head I established he was who he said he was by asking about the country radio station at Kempsey (the quirky location of it). He knew the answer and that was good enough for me! Deal went thru ok.

    Guntree

Sold my mum's Alfa Romeo on GT and met a very nice young couple and no idiots then bought fishing gear off GT and ended up going to the vendor's restaurant for my 30th. wedding anniversary! (Made the waders a bit more expensive!) Gumtree has been good to me. Peter.
