Try Shady Camp on an afternoon or night on an incoming tide, Even if you are not into fishing just to see the sheer number of Crock's in the one place it makes the place a well worth visit.
Litchfield is another Must see.
I lived in Palmerston for 5 years But didn't spend much time in the City, I do remember a restaurant called "Seafood on Cullins" where you paid $20 and you could eat as much seafood as you could and it was great.
Other than that I spent my spare time fishing and exploring the rest of the Territory when I wasn't working.
