    Extended Warranty Offer from LR

    Well i didnt expect this,
Extended Warranty out to 6 years , or extended road side assist.
Last time i asked, i was told no, not for Defender, if i had known my mods may have been more modest

However, given the modest mods to date, like BAS tune, BAS I/C, Ashcroft Diffs , etc , I wonder if any claim on Extended Warrenty wouldbe laughed at.

What to do ? Maybe the $150 roadside assist package , the Warranty is attractive if the mods dont kill it.

By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

Looks like LRA have gone back to what used to be offered some years ago. We got our TD5 Defenders extended by a year for around $90 at warranty end in 2006 and it broke down in Newman when the TPO played up.
RACWA who do the job for LRA were ineffective but we did get transport arranged for the car and camper back to Perth but that took nearly 3 weeks due to the drivers not wanting to unload anything to get ours on top due to it's length.
Eventually LR did the trick and hired a low loader leaving Hedland plus they paid a good bit towards our out of pockets expences.
Well worth that extra bit of money.

PS. I took it to an independent for repair but was told afterwards the stealer had instructions to repair without charge due to the inconvenience caused by the truck drivers!

If your vehicle is a Defender, I don't think you'll be able to get Extended Warranty. You can get Roadside Assist, but not E.W.
If such is not the case, please advise, because we were told no E.W. for Defender.

    Well,
I have a letter of offer for a vehicle with a Defender VIN, OR LR is really bad at MailMerge

I will ask my dealer mate.

This is one letter I never received!

I think I would almost certainly been onto that!

Maybe if there is a certain amount of action on your service history they
    Don't offer it?

That said, I am still pretty happy with my dealer service, that being Solitaire,

    Re Defender Extended Warranty.
    I suggest you check this.
Is this a GENUINE JLR Extended Warranty?...ie a GENUINE extension of the original 3 yr warranty in all JLR features, OR, is it an after market "warranty", covered by someone other than JLR. Allianz provides such a product.
Be VERY sure, Is it "JLR", or is it not?!

I just got the same letter. Will have to look into it and ask the dealer. Was planning to get it serviced in the next couple of weeks anyway.

i can't believe how quickly the time has gone since I got the Defender. Ah - the memories of waiting for that ship to get to Freo! My wife always laughs about how excited I was when we saw the ship finally arrive.

I recall Andy's arrived just before mine did.

No worries guys, but please advise what you are offered with respect to a JLR extended warranty on Defender, because I was very definitely told that this warranty (From JLR) was not available on Defender.
