    Which Dept do I contact

    Gday All,

I recently purchased some stuff on-line , the website said free Delivery over $150 , so my purchase came to $250 and low and behold they wanted a delivery fee at checkout. I redone the purchase and the same thing happened , so I thought maybe it gets deducted from the payment , so I went ahead and paid. I ended up getting charged a delivery fee , not a lot of $$ but upon contacting the sellers I was annoyed at the response , so being the pig headed person I am, I am going to make a further complaint.

So just wondering who would be the best department to complain to.

Where is the business located Ean?

If it's outside of Australia I reckon you have nothing, as annoying as it is..

If it was on eBay you should have protection via the dispute options and of course could always provide negative feedback. Do they have a Facebook page? Seems to be a very popular mechanism for venting frustrations with vendors who under perform

I still went ahead with the purchase , but , to me its a mis-leading advert on the top of their website. There is no conditions apply words near it , they tell me there is an * next to it , but buggered if I could open it.

Its not about the $$ as it was minimal , but when you ask and get the reply I got telling me its my fault I didn't read it correctly it gets your back up. - well it does me anyway.

Nothing will come of it other than them not getting any more business from me , but if there is some dept I can complain to then I will , and if it even makes them show things more clearly then I can live with that.

It wasn't on ebay , it was direct from their online site.

If you paid by credit card you can request your bank to hold payment due to a dispute being in progress. Then notify the vendor of your actions.
I did this recently in regard to some extra charges on a hire car in Norway by a global hire company. After about five weeks and having paid the full amount (as visa statement became due) the bank credited me with the disputed amount of AUD$174, no further questions asked.

Yeah, tell your bank you've been charged on your credit card without authorisation - they'll investigate it. Chances are they'll refund you the difference.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Thanks for the reply's , I can dispute it thru the C/Card but that doesn't stop the next person getting slugged . If it was clear that it was free delivery to X,Y,Z then fine , but it didn't , and for the minimal fee most people would let it slide.

I just want to make a formal complaint about it , and if its within the rules then I will accept it . I just hate the feeling of being shafted , atleast give me the option of some lube if you are going to try.

If i see an asterisk i go to the bottom of the page or where ever the conditions are listed because that is what i`ve always known to be the reason for an asterisk.

The asterisk you say you couldn`t open so must be there , if it doesn`t lead to a footnote you would have reason to complain .

If the asterisk leads to a footnote , i`d say your blue .

There is always the option of contact/email prior and if not a suitable or no reply no purchase .

They probably saw your address and added the NT tax i hear about, the asterix probably said something like for East Coast residents only.
