    WOW.
Look what happens when you make a post and then depression kicks in and you stay away from your phone or computer for a few days.
Firstly my sincere apologies for posting and running so to speak and not getting back to this earlier.
Thank you to inc for emailing me.

I am overwhelmed. I don't really know how to respond.

Who is Kenley, Why does he have to get to Canada and what are these Strong Hindrances ?

My name is Kenley. I live in Eatons Hill with my two Daughters, although still married my wife left us about 4 years ago. She does help significantly with the household payments but existance is hard living mostly paycheque to paycheque. Working all week, keeping home and school life happening as smoothly as I can.
This story is probably common to many among us. And I am sure many have it far harder than I do, which is why I haven't asked for help, and why all this support is overwhelming me.

My eldest Daughter is and has been doing very well in triathlons. What started as just trying to get general fitness and to see if she could do it has grown and grown. For her age group she is current Bribie Island Tri series champion, Gatorade Queensland series champ, second in Nissan State series and won Straddie Salute two years in row and won Gold Coast half marathon last year. She is also State and National Cross tri Junior champ.

As you can see she has done a lot for me and her to be proud of. She is still at school, our day starts at 5 every morning for training before and then again after school.
She has done lots, but financially from my side it has been huge.

She is going to Canada in August representing Australia in the elite level for Cross Tri as well as in age group in Aquathlon. She also qualified for Duathlon but we decided against it as too difficult to take and transport two bikes.

I have taken her too and supported her through every stage of this.

I had started trying to save (while trying not to get phone and power disconnected), not an easy task when you earn peanuts. Unfortunately Murphy raised his head with a series of Defender, ute and household urgent repairs all coming in a matter of months. This has set me back to the point where I simply cannot afford to take Kelsey to Canada. When you live pay to pay it's not only the expense of going, but also having funds in the bank to cover direct payments either while away or when I return. Work pays me two weeks after.

My wife is going to have to take her. It does make sense as she has a real job, can get leave and gets paid while on leave.
The thing is she doesn't share the same passion. Has only been to one Tri in all this time.

But I WANT to be there to support her.
    It's a want. NOT a need.

If this goes further I will be incredibly humbled.
There are still many expenses just to get Kelsey there, let alone me.

For it to go further I don't know what to do. I will try post a link to Kelsey's go fund me page. Thats a good start.

But please. If anyone does donate, please only do it if you can absolutely afford it. I know only too well what its like to be broke.

Fundraiser by Kelsey Griffith : World Junior Cross Triathlon Apparently that's the link. doesn't look like one to me. I'll see once posted.

    Thank you AULRO. For everything.

Well said. I know what it's like to be a proud single parent of a child, and would be absolutely gutted if I couldn't attend such a monumentous event such as this. Therefore I'm more than happy to help with what I can. I do think you are mistaken with one point though. IMHO, it is most certainly a NEED for you to be there for her cheering her on in a strange country with very little family and 0 friends for support.

We'll take that as permission to proceed Kenley. It may be a want for you, mate but I think Kelsey needs you there.
You being there is a want for quite a few AULROians.

Righto. Well, now we've started this, let's finish it. I would have preferred a model that didn't take 5%, but hey, whatever works. I'm still open to the idea of sharing the details of an idle bank account, ideas about this welcomed. Well, I pledged $100 from the outset, so that's going in now.

Kenley, you NEED to go. If not for you, for Kelsey. I have my fingers crossed that this works.
