Thanks hodgo. I wanted to do that. I even dug out an old Facebook account ( I don't use it ) for the purpose, but I haven't been accepted into the group.

My Daughter has been training very hard. And it's paid off. In August she is going to Canada to represent Australia in the elite level for cross tri and in age group for aquathlon. She also qualified for for duathlon but we pulled out of that as we thought taking her mountain bike as well as road bike would be a bit difficult.
Although she is the one who trains hard I think I also need some credit as being the one who has taken and supported her to every triathlon. I've missed countless hours of work, sometimes days of work getting her to training and events. Daily 5am swim sessions, blah blah blah. the list can go on for a while.
Although i whinge occasionally its not a chore. I love being involved and choke up with pride every time she finishes an event. You should see me when she wins. The thought of watching her perform in Australian uniform just chokes me up.

We've bought her uniforms. Two of them, elite and age group. I was so excited about taking her to worlds.

    Life can be cruel.
An unexpected run of vehicle and household expenses popped up, some quite substantial. I survive pay cheque to pay cheque. This has crippled me. I can no longer go. Instead her mum is taking her. It makes sense, she's the one with a real job, gets paid while on leave etc. But she's been to one triathlon and taken her her two training sessions in all this time. Her hearts not in it like mine.

I so wish I could be there. Hopefully she qualifies again in the future and one day I'll get my turn to watch.
    Kenley
Congratulations to your daughter on her qualifications and to you for the immense and absolutely necessary support that you've given her. I know that its a huge commitment and having travelled all over Australia to do the same I was lucky enough to represent Australia in Duathlon in 2015 and Cross Triathlon in 2016 (but was sick for it). I hope that you can find your way over there and live the dream with your daughter, I know that it would mean the world for both of you. If things are impossible, and I hope they're not, then hopefully you will have another opportunity in the 2018 world championships which are in Australia.
    Cheers
    Slunnie

Just think of the speed and endurance incentives she will have there. A big brown or grizzly bear chasing the back wheel of the bike should be enough to pick up the pedalling rates !

Could we make it a sticky in General Chat? 'The forum is currently supporting this appeal'

I have just donated a second $500 to increase my initial stake. Matching your $1000.

Are you going to increase your stake further? Call my bluff again if you must.
