If it goes inland at Karratha/Onslow it should pop off the coast again near Carnarvon. I reckon this one will cause a lot of problems over a wide area.

I'm currently on Barrow Island and we have just shut the field in for the cyclone. The updated predicted course is now straight over the top of us. Thankfully it is tipped to be only a Cat 3 but with a fair amount of rain. Will see what develops in the next 24 hrs.

Remarks: Gales with gusts to 110 kilometres an hour are possible in coastal areas between Broome and Wallal during Friday afternoon extending south to Port Hedland overnight and to Fortescue during Saturday as Daryl moves to the southwest.
Residents along the Pilbara coast are warned of the potential risk of destructive winds on Saturday as the cyclone approaches the coast.
Residents of Port Hedland are specifically warned of the potential of a dangerous storm tide as the cyclone centre nears the coast. Tides are likely to rise significantly above the normal high tide mark with damaging waves and dangerous flooding.
The State Emergency Service advises of the following alerts:
YELLOW ALERT: People in coastal communities between Pardoo and Whim Creek, including Pardoo, Port Hedland, South Hedland and Whim Creek, should commence action in preparation for the cyclone's arrival.
BLUE ALERT: People in remaining coastal communities between Broome and Dampier, including Broome, Bidyadanga, Sandfire, Wallal, Roebourne, Wickham, Point Samson, Karratha and Dampier should start taking precautions.
People in coastal communities between Cape Leveque and Coral Bay and in the inland Pilbara should listen for the next advice.
Closed the shop just after 3pm when a yellow alert was given, may not be able to open back up tomorrow right now, will depend on how long it takes to pass over.
