No but they are the ones that will pull me over and check the car over. The question had to be asked of them as well.

    My advice:
Go to a RWC inspection centre. Get a RWC. Do not mention Mod plates. If the inspector brings the subject up, tell the truth, there were no Mod plates. What can they do? They will either issue a RWC for the vehicle or not issue a RWC for the vehicle.
Take the car to Vicroads with the receipt, RWC and application form. All the details should be on the computer.
If, and I mean "IF", they ask about the Mod plates, tell the truth, there were no Mod plates.
What can they do? They will either register the vehicle or not register the vehicle.
If it does not go well, then get in a knot about it and ask questions.
As I said before, I have a Series 3 on a RRC chassis. It has an engineers report on file at Vicroads. There were never any Mod plates attached.
Here is the thing. I try to do right by all I deal with. I have spoken to ten random places and all of them told me to get lost and find the mod plate. How can I hold my head high and say I try to do right, and then not say anything and risk someones license to do road worthy certs on cars?

Pickards Auto in abbotsford have agreed to do it for some reason. But before I can I need to replace all brake discs, pads and get new rubber (in a size I dont even want) so it all pass's and replace brake lines as well now.

Oh and just so on the same page etc - I have spoke to Vic Roads and have done for weeks over this. They say they dont care because its updated on the national database as .. what it is.

But anyone who looks at it for a Road worthy cert say no. Need to sight the mode plate because its the rules of the RCW to sight the plate that should never be removed from the car. Period!
Never mind the years of paper work showing it being rego'd as its mod in two states in Australia - even my guy at AMV (Greg) said no way.

Again - its not Vic roads, not the cops - but the Road Worthy Cert rule that is the issue and not having that plate as per the freakin AD.
That and the feeling of being take for \ screwed over and that person thinking its fine and they can get away with it. At this stage if I saw said person I'd be locked up for smashing him one just for the stuff about.
Gotta remembered - 12k for this in 6 weeks, I had to sell a Hayabusa and a Disc 1 to get it in that time. There's more to this .

even if you are all correct and squared away with vicroads, vicpol can still pull you over and go over the car. all your doing is looking for issues.

had the same issue in SA when i put the Ls1 into my D2. ask 10 sapol officers, get 10 different stories. ask 10 different people at vechicle inspections, got the same answer each time.

More trying to figure out where I stand for my 12k here.

The answer is a yes however - there is a law for it and yes I can be fined for it. Just depends if the cop wants to or not.

I know it isn't the same thing, but when I was going through the same process with my D1 here a few years ago, all it took was a stat dec.
Long story short:. Got RWC. Took car into VicRoads to get reggo'ed and as the guy was checking numbers, found that the engine wasn't the original. When I was questioned, I pleaded ignorance ( I was, I had no idea it wasn't the original). He just gave me a piece of paper and a pen and had me write down that it wasn't me who did the swap, sign it, and run across the street to Priceline and get it signed and stamped. Once I did that, bang zoom I got my reg.

Don't know if that helps, just relating my experience with a "modded" car and VicRoads.

Why wasn't the blue plate fitted by the certifying engineer, as required by law?
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

It was when it was engineered - It was removed for fitting.. something else to the engine bay area. Now I'll place it back on the car. problem solved.
