welcome!

shame about the 2a tho![]()
On Wednesday/Thursday, I organised a "Bomb Collector" to come and remove just some of the 9 cars, trucks, and freezer bodies, lying around my parents place!!
On Friday, I found this place!
One of you guys may have missed out on a SIIa (- motor) just been sitting for about 18years!
Free to good home!
Oh well!!
I have(had?) a softspot for the Rover V8.
I've almost cooked too many for it to be a coincidence that they all survived!
Leaky waterpumps, rusted welshplugs, rotted radiators...all contributing to 5 of my 10 rover V8 cars and rangie having been driven at a ridiculous high coolant temp!
The worst was the welsh plug, having driven 30klms(1/2hour) with no water/coolant at all. The last 10mins were very "interesting" where the car had lost power (@130°C) I coasted into mum and dads driveway and into "the workshop" (they have lots of room. I don't)
I currently have my sick/dying/semi retired/spider infested, 2door RR and I'm thinking a 4door would be more practical for the kids and all!!
I have very few funds, and I'm thinking I want a 4door rolling chassis (as complete as possible).
Body on/off is no problems!
I also have 2 motors lying around, 1 complete EFI from an 85 VandenPlas. (very good)
What are some of the pitfalls, etc to look out for?
Is it going to be hard to replace my original 500K klm RR engine with the nice clean 85 VDP motor, EFI and all?
Just some of the experiences from anyone that has done this kind of thing would be nice![]()
I'm thinking a budget of around $1500 for a donor 4door?
Otherwise I just have to wait till the right 89-90 Rangie comes along for $3Kops:
welcome!

Most people wish they had never found us,
But if you are happy with your find then welcome to the mad house
dont have to be mad to be here
But it helps
There are two types of people in this world, good and bad. The good sleep better, but the bad seem to enjoy the waking hours
Our new friend must be in this gathering, many Rovers and a Vandenplas? Oh dear.
Welcome.
Cyclone darryl did diddly eh big? How'd you go?
Cheers, GQ
Welcome to the site buddy, you'll find many more nuts like yourself here
I'm guessing if they went to the scrap you get good prices up your way to. A mate of mine collects cars fixes the ones that he can and strips the others and sells them as scrap.
I found this place three years after purchasing my Disco. That is a mixed blessing.
If I had found it before I bought it I would never have bought it.
If I didn't find it I would have sold it by now and bought a..... :?
