Last couple of weeks i keep running into people that were somehow associated with places i have worked over the years
first was an old gent at Woodford who was telling me he worked at the old cheese factory and how he used to emty the milk from the tankers that used to pick it up from the farms etc
i mention i had worked up there a couple of times during my apprenticeship and how i was also involved building some of the milk tankers the co op had up there..
he says hang on a minute and arrives back with a stack of pics of the place and some of the tankers..
low and behold i recognise one of them straight up, it was a special build that had a full stainless steel rear compartment instead of the usual fiberglass layout..
was one of the few jobs i ever worked on with my father, who was a sheetmetal worker at the same joint. his main apprentice on the job was robbie rosenlund, the keyboard player in the old wicket wak band.
brought back a flood of memories i gotta say...

a few days later i am talking to a customer and mention i worked for P&O for a while at the old cold stores and in container repair.
up he pipes, i worked on the forklifts there at wattie pic ...
amazing, i spent way too many hours working on the dam blast freezer there and remember the forklift repair guys but never ventured over for a chat as i usually had an engineer over my shoulder..
small world....

The cry for help went out and was answered by Celtic 4X4, he had a Hawkeye and offered me the use of it. Tony gave me his address and I limped the car over to his house.
During the course of repairing my car it became apparent that we had met in a previous life. We had mutual acquaintances and friends. We took a trip down memory lane, it would have been twenty years since we worked at the same company.
