Moral of this story. Never trust a Western Star driver. Western Star were famous for their butter.

Do you want me to post you a bit of cardboard, with "ROMA ST" written on it?

The Grawin is indeed an amazing place. we were given a guided tour by a friend who'd been a teacher there. She knew all the characters and what they were 'noted' for. I reckon it would be a good place to set a mystery movie.

The Grawin was real frontier land 20 years ago. Wonder if the Sheepyard bar is still out there. Now there is a real bar!!

    Sheepyard is still there.

There was a pub I visited with a mate and his family circa 1998 which was just a tin shed with a meshed off area with ice tubs for cooling stubbies... but I was told it burnt down and wasn't rebuilt.
    Glengarry Hilton pub,
    Sheepyard,
and the Grawin 'Club in the scrub' are all worth a visit.

Haven't been out there since the late 80's but similar description. My then in laws had some large prospecting leases and we were making them out for aerial photography . The pub was a leantoo against a big tree on the side of a small clay pan. Generator for the fridges and satellite receiver, lights, uhf etc. seating was old school chairs.. had few big nights there... they weren't keen on visitors, only locals.
    Cheers

I might have a reprieve, seems it's opal season and there's no accommodation to be had.
