I've read a book quoting his "Gaffes" and, for the most part, found them witty and relevant to the situation he was in. At least he had the balls to "Tell it straight" to people, especially a few poseurs i.e. the designer for one.

I loathe fawning by anyone but especially by people in high office.

I,d rather a bloke like Phil than some creep who cuddles up to everyone because they are afraid of upsetting some minority and losing favour.....
