Perhaps not now, but eventually there will only be electric vehicles. Who knows, perhaps generators will evolve , to be able to charge vehicles. Just have to use your imagination. I bet there weren't many petrol stations around when cars first came on the scene.
I think there will always be some internal combustion cars , just as there are still horse drawn and steam powered vehicles today.
How many petrol stations will be around? That's the point of difference. Eventually an entire industry will all but disappear. Not in our lifetime.Quote:

Britain is already requiring servos to install charging points. Instead of buying fuel we will buy charging time and go off for a snack. Charging to 80 percent should take under an hour. All good.

Human nature suggests it would not be long before the hourly charging rate exceeded the current petrol price. Which begs the question, how would the Gov. replace the fuel excise? There is no doubt there would be a government charge somewhere.Quote:

Does anyone know what the criteria for 'zero emissions' is? Does it include the source of the electricity? ...somehow I don't think clean coal powered charging stations = zero emissions. Without solar or recycled chip oil how is zero emissions achieved?
