A BIG thank you is needed..
According to Mick Marsh, this years Winter Wombat was my fault. I don't quite see it, because it would have happened anyway, but yes, I started the thread. Now, I believed that I would have a D2 to go there in. When it became obvious that that wasn't going to happen, I tried to get the D1 up for it. In fact, I was out there on the Friday morning pulling the head, thinking I would just throw it back together with a new gasket and hope it got me through. It was about 1° max, and I was saying " you have to be kidding". But, my son and my two grandsons were going, and I don't see them that often.
I had been talking to Mario (Roverlord Offroad Spares ) the day before about the gaskets etc. Mario and Heather live quite close to me. I was out there, in the carport ( almost, the D1 + roofrack won't fit ) at around 9 AM, pulling the head, when the phone rang. It was Mario, offering me the use of his almost pristine D2 V8, to take to Wombat. ???? Mario knows me in person, but?????
I'm not sure Mario wants me to post this here. He is not seeking recognition for this. A number of people discovered his and Heather's generosity this Wombat.
Sorry, Mario, but I will never forget your generosity this week, and I hope you will forgive me shouting it out. I can think of no better way to thank you than to promote your business.
Folks, Roverlord OffRoad Spares are good people. AULRO people should give them a try. Those that have will agree with me, they are GOOD people.
I didn't bend it, Mario, but it might take a while to get it clean!!
