    ARB ad

Latest ARB ad airing in our neck of the woods.
Couple of tools in a blue Hilux flying through the scrub while easily impressed tools watch with awe from their simple campsite.
Then a water crossing that delivers most bogans satisfaction.
Auger up the track a bit and engage diff locks.
I guess ARB are now marketing their stuff as necessary and essential equipment for idiots whose main aim when getting out is to pretend they are in the Paris Dakar while stuffing up the bush and making anyone else around aware of their presence.
They should have finished it with a caption of something like "ARB real tools for the bush"

Others may differ, but IMO its a great example of what is wrong with so many drivers/owners of any 4wd make.

Oh well thats off my chest...

Maybe the caption should be "ARB for Real Tools in the Bush"
I see a lot of these types every Easter and Christmas holidays that think their new 9 inch LED spotties make great daytime driving lights and their 33 inch wheels spin up the track Much better at 40psi.

Don't forget the blow off valve and lack of muffler , so they can be heard being seen. All perfectly fine mods for the urban environment too .

They ought to sell a E size oxygen cylinder to them at POS. Saves robbing the rest of us of that precious resource 😠

Most people don't really use most of the mods / equipment they purchase for their 4x4. It's often all about image.

I've been running stock Defenders for 17 years now, in the harshest environments all over the Australian continent for work and camping. The only mods: upgraded shocks, snorkel, bullbar, Bridgestone 661 235/85R16 tyres. That's it.

For me it's only about accessing country reliably and with as little clutter or weight as possible. ...not proving my manhood / tool-worthiness / image.

Unfortunately however, now that Defender is finished, most if not all new vehicles will require many mods to be bush ready. But that suits the majority - the image driven urban cowboy market that doesn't really respect country.

When Tojo 70 series goes too (which can't be far off??) it will be a real boon for ARB, etc as well as for roadside assist programs IMO.

Accidentally filled with carbon monoxide !!! .. oops

The ad that annoyed me the most last year was some idiotic ad from Mitsubishi for an inane SUV .. and the important byline was that the car 'accelerated and decelerated for you so you don't have to worry about driving!
I'm thinking, if the prospective buyer wants a car to 'not worry about driving' .. shouldn't the ad be advocating for those people to save their $'s for all the Uber calls they're better off using instead!

What the hell has the world come too, when the car's marketing point is no not worry about driving .. future is looking bleak with roads full of brain dead idiots that don't need to think about driving.
