Courier pick up from Graysonline Syd to Vic

Has anyone in Victoria bought smaller items from the Frontline auctions in Minto Sydney, such as a starter motor, p/s pump etc etc. How did you have the items picked up and shipped to Vic. The reason I ask is, I've heard some courier companies refuse to pick up from Grays. I'm not sure of the reason, just something I heard.
All the smaller items in the auctions are in Minto, they only have vehicles in the Melbourne auctions.
What courier companies are ‘Grays Friendly’ and can you give an example of cost.

Dunno if it still applies, but I had to pickup a couple of pallets of gear from a Graysonline site once. There was a pretty fair old rigmarole involved.
IIRC I had to have copies of the emails sent to the purchaser by Grays, and the buyer had to fax them a signed letter explaining who I was, my vehicle rego, etc authorising me to pickup the goods on his behalf.
All you need is to add a pedantic nit-picking admin person, and a driver can spend a lot of time waiting around.

BEFORE you call a courier, ring the Grays yard where the goods are and check what the driver will need to be able to get the goods. And, whilst the pickup is underway, have your phone in your hot little hand, charged up, and with good phone signal/credit. Some of the above-mentioned admin staff will make only one attempt to contact you if there's a problem , then you go into the too-hard basket and your courier gets sent to the back of the queue. Not many drivers will persist after that.

I've picked up items twice from Minto....one pick up 5 minutes from paperwork to on the trailer, the second I was waiting nearly an hour.

Both my items needed to be lifted with a fork, but I think I would have been still waiting the same amount of time as from what I have witnessed, you are cleared out on a' first come first, served basis' not on ease of portage.

I could see a courier getting itchy feet after a short wait.

I’m waiting on a quote from a mob called Lift & Load. They actually have a Graysonline section on their website and they quote by using the lot number. Hopefully they’re not too expensive.
At least they’re familiar with how Grays operate.
We’ll see what they come up with.

    I USE E-GO

I use E-GO its a division of hunters brothers transport all arrangements are done over the net and their prices are on par with most common carriers and its door to door or depot to depot all over Australia. I have never had them do a pickup from graysonline Its worth a try. they are very reliable.

I've used E-Go and Interparcel a lot through my business, they are both great.
The main problem with Grays is, they wont do any labeling. So, if you book a pickup online through E-Go for example, normally the sender will automatically be emailed the connote which they have to print out and attach to the goods, but Grays wont do this. So, you need to find a courier who knows how Grays operate, and is happy to pick up from there.
I've spoken to a few couriers on the phone in regards to picking up from auction sites and a common answer is no, because if there's no label on the goods the driver might walk away and leave it there. I can understand this as they need their paper trail and these days connotes have bar codes to be scanned, not just an address label.
One mob said their driver can get a "manual connote" filled out on site, but because it's a legal document it has to be filled out by the sender, in this case Grays, and they probably wont do that.
Also, Grays load on a first come first loaded basis, so a driver might have to wait around for a long time depending on how busy it is. I've never met a courier driver who's prepared to stand around twiddling his thumbs for too long..........10 minutes and I reckon most drivers would be getting a bit

Still waiting for an answer from Lift & Load.

    Cheers, Murray

I just spoke to Interparcel on the phone and they told me they have Graysonline (and other auction houses) on there list of "prohibited addresses", the specific reason being that they don't label goods.

If we can get a few purchasers together, hook up a trailer, overnight up and drive back the next day.

This pick up problem is certainly stopping a lot of ppl buying from them due to distances involved etc. A lot of couriers wont pick up from them coz they make u wait around for ages and then they make u jump through hoops and if u have the wrong colour undies on its too bad come back some other time. I would have loved to buy a couple of parts from minto auctions but the logistics of getting it out of there is staggering especially if ur not too computer savvy or dont have things like printers and stuff, which i dont. Its just too bloody hard. They take ur money very easily tho. Id love to get a pto unit from the latest auction but i cant drive over and pick it up and i dont want to trouble anyone else to get it for me. It just SUCKS.

I just spoke to Pack & Send in Sydney (Campbelltown branch). Although they are definitely not the cheapest from my past experience with them, in this case they might be the least hassle because they deal with Grays at Minto a lot. They do a bulk pickup for each auction.
An example of cost is $114 for a stater motor at 9kgs delivered to Winchelsea in rural Victoria.
