It certainly would - I mean having the missus do the snatching and take the photos at the same time is a bit tough.

    Don't you do anything, Craig?

Wonder if he lets her use the truck or just gives her the strap, hooks her up and says"RUN"

I think he got stuck in that place "FAR CANAL"

That's what I thought when i saw the pics anyway. I Can't believe people are still that stupid/ignorant/unaware of potential dangers with ANY sort of recoveries.
Even for a first timer, that looked liked a "no brainer" recovery. No a no brains used recovery.

A few years ago, one Fraser trip, two geniuses attached 2 snatches with hardware shackle. It broke and went through the back windscreen and out the front. No one injured but a few startled rabbit types about. We arrived just as they're inspecting the damage. 8O

Geez thanks for reminding me of that Grizzly  , for bringing up the "horrors" of my first time out. Looking at that makes me realise how lucky I was. Lets be a little gentle folks as I was ummmm, errrrrr, geeee one of those inexperienced people, luckily I had experience people pull me out of the crap. And for those who need a reminder, heres the link,

P.S. I am going to be doing a 4WD training course through GCLRO, but would be interested to know exactly what this mob did incorrectly and how one of you experienced ones would have done the recovery correctly, thanks,

    Stevo,

I am also a newbie, and after viewing the photos I am keen to learn from your misadventure.

What did you do wrong to get stuck? There seem to be wheel tracks on both sides of your vehicle?

    Hey Sequel,

I almost learnt the hard way, the first thing was not knowing about letting air out of the tyres. So will fully inflated tyres, stopping in very soft sand and then hammering the pedal to get going, I got stuck up to the rafters. I was also in high range as opposed to low and had DSC on. I was snatched out the first time and got bogged again 50 metres down the stretch. Another bloke in a Cruiser came along and tested my air pressures and it seemed they hadnt all been let down properly. So he let them all down, told me to put it into low range, I switched off the DSC and she popped herself right out of the bog. I then got the hell off the beach  . After that I joined GCLRO, read alot and bought recovery gear etc etc so will be in a better position next time round. Am looking forward to conquering my beach fear when I go to Fraser in about 4 wks,

    Regards

    Stevo

    P.S. Welcome

OK, OK. I meant to type in I take the photo's and do al the hooking up.

The only way I would join two straps is with a newspaper or similar or if desperate together through the loops (downside is you may not be able to get apart again). Anything with any sort of solid forum is just stupid.
