Gav i would love this dog but im not allowed to have another dog. Labs are great dogs. Cheers Rod
Hope is thread can be left here as I need help with something. We have a friend staying with us who is moving back to NZ permanantly - she has a 4 year old black Lab that she was planning to take with her, but the situation has changed due to her Mother getting sick - she will now be moving back in with her Mum to look after her, but cannot keep Carter - the Lab there. As her duration in the unit is unknown and no one else over there can take him (She has no family over here either to help) she was thinking of giving him up for adoption and I can see this idea is causing her a great deal of pain to think this may be the last option she is left with.
If anyone in the Melbourne area (or anywhere if you can get him) can adopt him, it would make her feel much better than just giving him up and not knowing where he went.
He is microchipped, desexed and fully vacinated. He - like every Lab I've known is a big friendly lump that just wants a pat and to be loved. He's fine with other dogs - and curious, but not aggresive towards cats. Good with Children too, but he is big and bouncy when he plays so maybe not ideal around small kids.
If anyone can rehome him in the next week or so it will save him from being surrendered. He must be gone by the long weekend as no one will be here then to care for him for over a week, so he will be surrendered by then if a new home can't be found. 🙁
We are unable to care for him long term unfortunately.
Reply here or PM me.
Thanks in advance.
A pic - not the pug in the background, Wes just likes being the centre of attention.

Cheers Ean
Would be a perfect first dog. He's not highly strung and happily lays around the yard all day if nothing is happening. Comfortable inside and outside. Great dog and a huge pity we can't take him permanantly. ☹️

If you were closer I would consider taking him, haven't fully gotten over loosing our last dog but as a dog lover I hate reading things like this.
Hope he finds a good home.
Cheers Ean
Yes, what Ean says...must be heartbreaking to have to leave a dog behind. Wish I could take him too. Hope it works out.
Darn it. A dog like that would help fill a huge hole in my life, but I couldn't take him to so many places I want to go. Let me sleep on it.
