Is it a conversion Ean, or matching numbers? Either way, it's a corker.

    Gday Ian

    Thanks

No, had the car in the family for 30 yrs , was originally the work ute, pre cross flow 6 cyl drum brakes all round. I converted it to a 289 about 2 yrs ago and fitted a disc brake front end last year. I have a 347 stroker kit for it but not sure if I want to go that way.

The original engine and everything else is sitting in the shed under a sheet.

    Cheers Ean

Many years ago as a 20yo, I aquired an XT Falcon, 6 Cyl, three on the tree. It came with a twin exhaust, so it sounded good,, well, sort of, but everyone thought it was an 8 , but the engine was tired .
I had lost my brief for 3 months , and whilst the car was off the road, only just recently purchased (only allowed to drive the milk truck for work) I swapped out the 6 for an auto V8. It came out of a ZB Fairlane which had been worked, and I got the full interior from a ZD Fairlane except the dash, so really, just the seats .

When I came back onto the road, mates,,, who had visited me with the car being worked on right at the front door of the house,,, couldn't work out why I now went sooo fast,,, Damn that was a cool car,, I miss it probably more than the XA GT I had.

Old school Fords,,, is there really anything better,,,, I think not.

Hard to disagree, but I do like my Barra powered Fairy, it keeps the eights honest.

Small capacity Ford V8's are one of the sweetest sounding engines on the planet.
