    Telstra Phone Calls- Scam warning

    Phone call from Telstra. When J B (Me) is on the line please push 1.
    It rattled of my address details and my year of birth!
    It then asked me to enter the day and Month to confirm who I was. Silly me did!
    Then auto script about $212 on my mobile -
    Push 1 to pay now,
    Push 2 to seek a extension of time to pay.
    Push 3 ( I forget)
    Push for to talk with an operator. I pushed 4. Questions from the person asking me for ID. I asked which mobile phone they were calling about on my private land line? The busy call centre said I must in must provide POI! Telstra music on the hold bits. Best scam attempt I have seen ever. How the sods got several bits of real information is beyond me. Kids had answered the same call five times before I picked it up. I wonder how many people push 1 to pay and give the sods their credit cards

    I did not and knew it was a scam from the moment is mention a mobile bill as that phone line is on completely separate account. I know of three other people who have been hit with this. It is one of the best seeminlgy authetic scams I have ever seen ( Ok I heard it not saw it)

    Be wary and skeptical of every call!

    I get them every now and then on work mobile,work land line,home land line.

    i hang up on them,they very rarely ring back ever.

    The call centres are easy to pick,the noise in the background,the gap before they speak once you answer the call,or the automated message.

    I rarely answer an unknown number but when I do, if no answer in the first two seconds, I hang up.

    Me too. Also, if no message left after a missed call from an unknown number, I add it to the Blocked Number list. No more worries.

    "Speak!!"

    It was his housemates boyfriend.

    I once had a Telstra bloke call me and then ask for my password.
    I told him seeing he was from Telstra he should know my password.
    Funny thing was that I then called Telstra and the bloke was legit.

    Must have had an off training day.

    BTW I always ID myself by saying PA speaking . If there is no response for 3 seconds I hang up, as it is obviously a computer based rotation system.

    Last two weeks have been getting usual scam calls ( delivery coming need to verify delivery details ect) , yesterday received a missed call message & when I tried to listen to it the normal way got a message to load an app to listen to it, so deleted it straight away. I checked my phone list for called & the number was not showing. Getting sick of blocking numbers , blocking two to three a day , scumbags
