    Dumped cars and poor parking

Went for a drive by my rented house today, and noticed that most of the neighbors were totally incapable of parking in their driveways when the front yard and nature strip would do. One even sported the mangled body shell of a patrol , weeds growing through the openings. The best kept yard was the one that my tenant is in. Not sure what the council rangers are doing or if this is accepted practice in this part of the world. Fine them all and maybe my rates will not increase or even decrease ?

Took my first flying lesson at Redcliffe around 35 years ago. It seemed a nice place then. Is it truly that bad now? I was living in Sandgate back then. I suppose it's the same now as well?

Most councils will fine for a vehicle being parked on the nature strip, but by the same token, most councils don't have a ranger patrolling like they used to. If someone reports this, it is more than likely they will be fined. A phone call or email to them should see the car body gone and everyone parking on the road for a few weeks, but they will go back to parking on the nature strip. Councils themselves are a lot to blame for this habit anyway as they sign off on the narrow streets the developers put in now making it nearly impossible to get uo some streets these days if everyone parked legally.

Of the sawmilling family? Oddly enough, that's about when I had my first flying lesson at Redcliffe, too.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

The police give you a ticket here for parking on the footpath, don't ask me how i know, but it was a good few years ago.

Agreed, developers are making many of the streets way to narrow here as well,i suppose the usual is happening, they(developers) are bribing the councils.....

The streets in the area are quite wide and the allocated drives are often long and wide enough for several vehicles. It is just strange that a large number prefer the nature strip and lawn to the driveway. One guy down the street used to get his tipper and dog in. The current occupant can’t even get his ute in ?
