At a loose end in Rockhampton.....
It’s all happening, training new staff, Brisbane based staff helping out.

Back at the blood bank this morning.
The team is a little flustered today.....
Either way they advised 27 degrees is the cut off to start a new donation. I see the temp readings in the air con unit have been checked twice already.
The tablets are causing frustrations with the oldies......and I got bumped out of the que.
They made mention again of my low blood pressure, which I assume is good to a point.
They also couldn’t find my pulse......eventually needed a nurse.
The benighted of donating out-ways and delays.

						Super Moderator2 things.
1) Your pictures have an interesting effect on one who suffers a chronic vasovagal reaction. One might almost call it humerous. My wife isn't so sure.
2) I have a 3 (nearly 4) year old here who is still here because of you who donate blood products. He's theoretically not going to need any more (the word they use is remission) but he used a *lot* of platelets over the last 9 months.
Therefore, if any of you "donaters" hit Perth, or I'm in a town near you. Drinks are on me.
* This offer does not expire and is valid for multiple sessions until one or both of us slide off the bar stool, or a Landrover leaves us stranded waiting for a taxi. Whichever comes latest. Use claim code AULRO-Angel. Offer also valid for Nurses.
Seriously. Thank you.
Good work everyone. We should start an AULRO Donor Group like they have for workplaces.
I did my fortnightly platelets the other day

Clinical today...as stocks are very short
I don’t understand why some doners choose not to do clinical when asked.

Just did my 150th donation this evening.
I can look forward to my photo ending up on the wall again in a few weeks. I tried to get out of having the whole photo malarkey done but they weren't having a bar of it.
Each to there own, I wasn’t overly fussed on the fuss around my 59th......it made the staff happy and they seemed genuinely appreciative of leering then take a pic.
On pics, the disappointing thing across the donation centers is the removal of of the photos of people that have either survived or their life was extended because of blood products. And generally the staff knew the story behind the image, the story’s were interesting and it really brought home just how important our blood products are. Sadly the images or more so the story has upset a few and now they have been replaced with landscape pics. Yes the images we bigger than life size and each person had a big smile.
