Each to there own, I wasn’t overly fussed on the fuss around my 59th......it made the staff happy and they seemed genuinely appreciative of leering then take a pic.
Well that is ok then. If you weren't concerned about your Privacy then that is your business.

So long as the Staff were happy.

    Woohoo new plasma machines....

Good thing is every donation can be a clinical donation.

    Donation time about the same

Less temperature change when returning the blood me

So you lot post the occasional pic illustrating where the platelets come from. Here's a coupe showing one of the places they go.
They are the "liquid gold" in the bag on the right at the top of the stand.

This is day 17 and his 3rd lot of platelets.

    Thanks again.

Nearly there, 10 short, one more cycle than some saline

Right on 14 days between donations, they are having a lot of no shows and a number of regulars are not booking.

Thank you Red Cross and all Blood and Plasma donors

Just over 12 months since my last donation I made a withdrawal of seven units of blood. Blood donors saved my life. Happy to be back on the giving side again. Started donating in Sydney, then Perth and Melbourne for last 35 years. Suspect I'm still in front after the withdrawal

    Today in Ringwood Vic
    😁😁😁.

I donated Blood for many years & as my Mum would tell us ("It's Blue", so was well sought after.) but alak alas I was diagnosed with BC about 34 years ago & I then discovered that plus the Meds, Alcatran I think it was, was not conducive to being a Blood Donor. Transfers with the blood donation it seems.

A small point of interest for anyone contemplating BC. The Sturgeon asked if I was a Smoker? If I had been he said that the second he made an incision the cells would go ape**** & spread right throughout my sorry carcass. Two people I knew were smokers & both had departed with full Ashtrays.

I guess it was correct advice as I've been ok in that dept. all these years. It's the other dept. that ****es me off but that is another story for another time. Possibly or possibly not.

Re photo. I recognise you, you bastard, with or without the mask, you're the bloke wot hit my new car with your flamin' motor Bike a while back. Selfish? Moi?

Well, I am officially and fully out of the sin bin - a 3 year ban on whole blood after a stint in PNG, and a 1 year ban on plasma after a playful nip from a monkey in Bali...
They used the new machine this time, I do reckon its a tad slower, and I did feel a tad queezy afterwards.
But that might have had something to do with the 10 pints of rehydration therapy afterwards!! Who was the genius that put the plasma centre in the same building as the alehouse??
