Thread: Miscommunication

I was at a local vintage car show recently with the LR88. As is usual with these sort of events the PA system was rather hit and miss at times.
An announcement came on to this effect
"Margaret, one euro strip, in the large tent"
So I headed off to pay my one euro to see Margaret do a strip.
When I got to the tent the PA crackled into life again and the announcement came out as...."Margaret is selling raffle tickets for one euro a strip in the large tent".
Anyway I turned and headed back across the field to view a rather nice restored Scammell lorry.

Many apologies but I forgot to bring a camera, but I'm sure there's a feature on Margaret in some edition of "Tractor Puller Monthly". Actually I didn't particularly mind the outcome.
I got to put my hands on the Scammell. Build wise there wasn't much between the Scammell and the aforementioned Margaret. Lookswise, the Scammell just about edged it....
